Our sanctuary

BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh is an animal welfare project by FOUR PAWS

BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh is a project of FOUR PAWS, an international animal welfare organisation with the headquarter in Vienna, Austria and offices in 15 countries. The sanctuary allows greater governmental enforcement of the existing laws prohibiting the abuse of bears for bile extraction by providing a place for any confiscated or voluntarily handed over bears to be taken care of appropriately.

We received the first bears in November 2017, and now over 40 Asiatic black bears are being cared for at BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh. With 4 large enclosures of more than 5000 sqm each, the bears can slowly regain their natural instincts. With 24-hour access to both the indoor and outdoor enclosures, the bears can choose to swim in the wading pools, climb on the high platforms specifically constructed for their needs, soak up the sun, play with other bears, forage for food or hide away in their dens when they want to relax.

Located near Cuc Phuong National Park, BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh will add unforgettable experiences to your trip to the beautiful Ninh Binh province.
